Hello, I have worked for an insurance company for 20 years in claims.
Unfortunately you will owe your deductible to the rental company. They do not
submit claims to other carriers to repair their vehicles. They will repair
the vehicle as they are self insured. The process works like this. Your
personal vehicle coverage transfers over to the rental vehicle. The rental
company is filing a claim through your carrier. Your company pays for the
damage, you pay the deductible to the rental company. Your company then will
subrogate the person who struck the rental. Once they receive payment for the
damages your company refunds your deductible to you. You need to call the
claim in to your insurance company. Hope this helps.
