Alchohol prices are cheap in the bahamas and there are duty free shops on
every block. No need to carry alcohol.

As for legality.. each adult is allowed 1 qt of alcohol packed in his checked
baggage. (not in the cabin unless it's from duty free at the airport).

Going home you are allowed 2 ltrs of alcohol. Since there's no duty free at
the airport you must pack the bottles in your checked luggage.
