Not many inexpensive alternatives in the Bahamas.. it's not known for being a
cheap destination. You might look in to the Towne Hotel (in town, a few
blocks from the beach, or Arawak Inn (across the street from Arawak Cay and
the public beach is down the road a block)
You are traveling in the Thanksgiving season, and may have to split your time
amoung places that have availability as most places have been booked for many
months.
Camping is not allowed in Nassau, (unless you know someone with private
property that allows you). It would also be VERY unsafe for a young women to
try this.
