Subject: Never been, best place to go...(for our needs)
Message:
Perhaps a newby and very redundant question. We will have a family reunion in
the Bahamas next Thanksgiving (2008) and I am looking for a place to answer
some pretty basic questions. The beginners are: Which island is best for our
needs?(see below); at a given island, what area to stay in; and where are some
good websites to find a place for rent?
info: we will be about 12 people including a couple of young kids. Looking
for plenty to do (golf, boating, snorkel/SCUBA, beach etc.). But not too
crowded...we found Virgin Gorda a great place to be 5 years ago when we stayed
at Coconut Grove Villa/House. We don't need shopping, lots of stores or
restaurants. Just a market to get food etc. Cafe, small eatery may be nice.
I say that only because we don't want to feel like we are in the middle of
Miami or Cancun. That said, I have done a bit of poking around and it seems
that Acabo is perhaps what we may need island-wise. Saw a few large houses on
a website in Treasure Cay. So any recs. regarding the questions. above? Feel
free to throw in your own biased opinions about what you like best. Or if you
think I should hit a different discussion forum feel free to direct me to it.
Thanks a bunch.
