You can certainly do that, but I would not do the crossing alone, you might
want to team up with other boats going over. Also there is a hefty boating
fee that you have to pay when you get to the Bahamas and it is several hundred
dollars. You might check with the Bahamas Consulate in Miami for more info
and what papers you will need for the crossing.
