The fishing question is easier to answer. Try L'il B's run by Les Treco. You
can contact him or his wife Janice at janice@bahamasvacationguide.com. I've
never seen a bad, or even average report, on his fishing trips, which are
limited to flat fishing, usually bonefish and the like. The hotel is another
thing. The most likely recommendation from me would be the Redwood Inn, which
is really nothing but a motel offering older, but clean rooms and very few
amenities. It is, however, located with a ten minute walk of the Port Lucaya
Marketplace and Marina and the beach across the street. Others would be the
Bell Channel Inn, a good 20 minute walk to the Marketplace, and the Port
Lucaya Resort and Yacht Club, right next door to the Marketplace. The
operative word in your posting being "quiet" in regards to a place to stay,
these may not meet your needs. Both will be impacted somewhat until 11:00 pm
or so by music from Count Basie Square in the Marketplace. Hope this helps.
Danny
