: Hi, Just returned from Freeport 2-19-09 Freeport is basically shut down due
to
: the extensive hurricane damage to houses and the Royal Oasis hotel which has
: been abandoned and there seems to be a lot of doubt as to whether it will
ever
: be rebuilt due to nervous investors and internal politics. The international
: bazaar and straw market are closed and the taxi drivers will not take you
: there. Do not despair however as there is plenty for you to do in Lucaya.
Taxis
: ($5) will transport you from Freeport harbour when you get off the ship.
There

: has plenty of shops and many of the vendors from the international market
have

: Lucaya Marketplace which offers glass bottom boat tours as well as fishing,
: diving, etc.
