The nearest grocery is City Market at Seahorse Plaze. It is about 4-5 miles
from Island Seas. Most timeshares have a shuttle grocery run. Also, I think
Island Seas has a shuttle to Port Lucaya Marketplace. The Marketplace is the
main tourist area, with 100 shops and restaurants and free Live entertainment
nightly at 8 PM.
You can ride the public bus for $1, but they stop running at 7 PM.
If you are at the Marketplace or casino after 7 PM, you will need to take a
taxi which will probably cost you $10.
You can rent a car for 2-3 days to explore the island if you wish.
Brad's car rental is the best. It is often a good investment to rent a car for
2-3 days and do some things on your own.
Some places, you can only get to by taking a tour or renting a car.
For example, if you want to snorkel, Paradise Cove is great, but if you take a
tour there, it is $30-$35 per person. If you drive there, you can snorkel for
$10. If you have your own snorkel equipment, it is $5. If 3-4 people are
going, you can pay for 1-2 days of car rental with the savings and you have a
car to explore the island. Lucayan national Park and Gold Rock beach is
another place that is beautiful but only accessable by tour or car.
