Heather,
From the looks of how the storms have moved, there hasn't been much damage on
the island. There have been a couple of storms since we were there in late
July. After we were there in 2004, a large storm passed over the island, and
everything seemed to hold up very well.
What houses are you still looking at? We LOVED our time on Double Bay this year.
Feel free to e-mail.
Barefoot-n-Nude in Texas!
PS: No, we live inland, and didn't get a drop of rain from Ike (dang it).
: We have a house in mind on the Atlantic side. we haven't put down the deposit
: and now we're a little concerned about the storms. Of course we are concerned
: about the residents' lives being disrupted and the potential for danger, but
: we're concerned about beach erosion, damage to the house or to the resturants
: and stores that we want to visit. I just don't know what to do at this point.
