: I am going to the Bahamas in a few weeks (by boat)and am thinking about the

: virgin territory for me. I spend most of the days out trolling, but like
: islands with character and something to do or someplace to explore when I'm
: not fishing.
:
: A friend said skip Spanish Wells and Harbour Island. He said the marinas are
: too far from any activity in Harbour Island and Spanish Wells has nothing to
: do or see. Any advice would be helpful.

: On other concern is the Devil's Backbone. I pan to be out fishing
everyday,so
: I do not want destinations which are too difficult to get in and out of.

My advice is to avoid Spanish Wells. Sweet churge-going community but
absolutely nothing to do. Nothing! No restaurants worth discussing. We
stayed in a lovely house right on a fabulous beach but we got a bit bored.
Remember also that it is a dry island so you must byob.
Harbour Island, on the other hand, is adorable. More of a bahamian flair.
Terrific hotels and restaurants. Shopping, horseback riding on the beach. As
quiet as you need it to be.
Good Luck
