Here is my question. I am getting married in a month and me and my fiance are
supposed to go on our honeymoon to Freeport, we are having trouble getting her
a passport because of the following.
We have a copy of her birth certificate but it is under her maiden name. When
she was seven yrs old she was adopted by her stepfather and at time her name
changed. She now has her drivers license, social security card etc in her
stepfather's last name. We also have the adoption papers where her last name
was transferred. The only thing we dont have is her BIRTH CERTIFICATE with her
stepfather's last name.
We have spoken to the County's health dept and to the county of the court where
she was adopted none of them have her birth certificate on file. We have
contacted the state dept and they have said that they never recieved paperwork
from the court.
So I need to know what I can do, will they let her in with a drivers license
that doesnt match her birth certificate. Or is there another way. Any help
would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
