Hi,
It is not that simple to work in the Bahamas. You can work illegally but if
you are caught you will be speedily deported. Temporary work permits are only
good for two weeks I think. Actually to legally qualify for a work permit in
the Bahamas aplication must be made on your behalf prior to you coming. Then
once it is approved you can come and work. The process involves making
application to the Immigration Department, Placing ads in the Papers etc.
Usually the good thing to do is to apply for an area Bahamians are not
interested in or are not qualified for usually a menial type work, then once
you are in the job do what you are qualified to do. Definitely not in
management. Unles you make some heavy connections. If you knwo persons who
are here who can hire you while you wait then it may be cool for a fee months.
For a work permit you will need to have all legal documents, police records,
health certificate, passport photos, etc.
