Sorry to tell you that you can't just work in the Bahamas either.
Incidental jobs are only available to Bahamians. Skilled workers can only be
hired if there is not an available local to take the job, but since
unemployment is so high, it's unlikely.
WOrk Permits are expensive, and are applied for by your employer for a
specific job. You cannot apply for a work permit while living in the bahamas.
You can stay in the bahamas for up to 3 months as a tourist, but you must show
that you have enough funds $$$ available to sustain you if you are looking to
stay any longer.
Most caribbean countries have similar policies.
: Me and my husband are looking for a country where he can work and support us
: while waiting for our immigration stuff to go through from america. We are
: currently in turkey and we found out he doesnt need a visa to go to bahamas
: and he can stay for 8 months. The bahamas seems like our only chance out. He
: only has experiance in Pizza restaurant management. He did not graduate high
: school so his management is the only thing he has. He worked for Domino's
: Pizza for 5 years in the United States before coming back to Turkey. We are
: wondering if it is possible to maybe find a temporary job in Bahamas and
live
: there while we wait for America to approve our case. If anyone has any
info.,
: please email me!!
