The government can care less whether you have the deeds YOU need it. There is
NO way you can prove you own the property. You cannot register the sale at the
registry so legally you still do not own it. The person with the deeds still
own it or whoever name it was last registered in.
Some peole do this in special arrangements for whatever purpose maybe tax.
However make sure you can trust that individual and there is some back end
agreement with an attorney that if they die you inherit the property.
ALso make sure they own it. LEGALLY.
If you do not have a deed you cannot be considered owner legally nor can you
seek any concessions i.e. residency etc. I can see you are on a dangerous path
unless like I said you can truly trust the seller.
